His struggles as a neurodiverse person made me feel overwhelmed every chapter I just wanted to scream, "Please world, give him a break I am not sure how much more he can take," but the positive parts also hit close to home, in a more wistful and dreamy way after all, who doesn't wish they could have a person who is so understanding of their struggles as Ira? Ira is awesome, and seeing "Evie" as he felt at home with someone by his side for the very first time was beautiful. We explore his past, his quirks, his personality, and his new relationship with Ira Doyle, and it's as anxiety-inducing as it is interesting. From the very first chapter of this book, you are aware of how far from okay he is, and you as a reader are along for the ride.

He is, for lack of a better word, completely unhinged. There is a very well done "whodunit" nature to the story that had me really involved at some point, I was even suspecting Ira as the murderer.īut the part that really stood out to me is the main character, Everett Larkin. The mystery aspect was very well done it got me involved and looking forward to the next development. But after going into a binge of questionable mpreg that left me craving a good read, I decided to give this one another go, and let me tell you, I am very impressed.

I actually read the first chapter and put it aside because I wasn't feeling it. I downloaded the first book to my Kindle a few weeks ago, and it kind of just stood there for a while. Let me start by saying that I didn't expect to like this duology so much.
